Position Summary

To inform the student body of events and opportunities around the university using the most relevant platforms (social media, posters, announcement videos, residence floor meeting announcements etc.) and providing a means for students to participate in dialogue with Student Council through various mediums.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To liaise between Student Council and other student committees and clubs in regard to communications and promotions.
  • To facilitate and to coordinate everyday public relations, including website announcements, advertising, etc.
  • To support the promotion of activities/initiatives by other departments (where relevant).
  • To keep the ASC website up to date. 
  • Will oversee all ASC media outlets (social media, posters, videos, etc.)
  • To record professional, detailed minutes at Student Council meetings, if the Executive Assistant is absent.

Duties and responsibilities performed within one's capabilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.

Reports to: ASC President, VP External

Job Standards and Requirements
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.50.
  • Previous experience with marketing, photography, photo editing and graphic design will be considered an asset.

Traits & Attitudes:
Creative, innovative, professional, with great attention to detail. Should have stylistic understanding, a knowledge of design software, and an awareness of the different means of communication that would be most effective. Needs to be able to work well with others, and be comfortable delegating and overseeing jobs.
