Position Summary

VP Internal requires a commitment to stewarding student fees, ensuring that they go to effective use in terms of events to happen, ensuring that events that are approved will be beneficial towards the student populous, and supporting the rest of the student council members.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To oversee the financial accounts of the Student Council.
  • To pay all bills, as authorized by the Student Council.
  • To fulfill and ensure the validity of reimbursement requests.
  • To be one of the signing officers of Student Council, along with the Student Council President.
  • To prepare and to present financial reports upon the request of any Student Council member.
  • To keep the records of all incoming and outgoing funds organized and available to the Student Council.
  • To liaise with the Finance Office of Ambrose in managing the finances of the Student Council.
  • To administer the Benevolent Fund in cooperation with the ASC President and a staff member of Student Life.
  • To submit Fall and Winter budgets on time.
  • To ensure that all stipends are properly distributed to recipients at the end of each semester on the last day of classes.
  • To facilitate the Undergraduate Health Plan in cooperation with Ambrose Finance.
  • To aid the Director of Operations in helping with the clubs. 

Duties and responsibilities performed within one's capabilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.

Job Standards and Requirements
  • Minimum CGPA of 2.50
  • Previous experience in managing budgets/financial statements will be considered an asset.

Organized, detail oriented, works well with others, strives for excellence, has a basic knowledge of how to prepare budgets, is familiar with and interested in finance, and effective communication skills.
