Position Summary

The ASC President will coordinate and direct the efforts of the Student Council and serves as the general point of contact for concerns regarding the Student Association.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To ensure that the entire Student Council are familiar with the Student Council’s Constitution, Bylaws, and Policies.
  • To preside at Student Council meetings and prepare an agenda for each of the meetings.
  • To act as the official voice of the Student Association.
  • To oversee all activities in the Student Council’s jurisdiction.
  • To be one of the signing officers of Student Council, along with the Vice President Internal.
  • To distribute tasks among, to develop, and to edify the members of the Student Council.
  • To attend Student Life meetings at the discretion of the Vice President of Student Life.
  • To attend the appropriate administrative meetings of Ambrose University as the representative of the Student Association.
  • Will work together with Accessibility Services, Writing Centre, Library Committee, Student Life, etc. to drive student academic success through a holistic learning approach and to foster a healthy academic environment. This includes, but is not limited to, planning study sessions, lectures on best practices for learning, peer-mentoring programs, etc.
  • To appoint and to determine the duties of the Executive Assistant.
  • To serve on the post-election Selection Committee to appoint to office the remaining Student Council positions. To oversee the fulfillment of the Constitution and Bylaws. This includes verifying the GPA of all Student Council members at mid-term and end-of-semester according to Constitutional requirements, as well as all Student Council candidates at election times.

Duties and responsibilities performed within one's capabilities that do not constitute a major change may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor either orally or in writing.

Job Standards and Requirements

Minimum CGPA of 2.80
