Ambrose Scholars Corner 2024: Riding the Wave of Scholarship
 

The Ambrose Scholars Corner was held on-campus on May 1, 2024. 

The Scholar’s Corner is an event hosted by Ambrose Faculty as a platform to showcase their recent research and creates an opportunity for them to present their findings to their peers and the greater Ambrose community. This years theme was Riding the Wave of Scholarship

This year saw Dr. Rita Yembliah host a faculty member panel with Dr. Ryan Wilkinson and Dr. Jon Coutts who shared their thoughts on Riding the Wave of Scholarship in regards to their newly released and upcoming scholarly works.

Their responses were primarily that the scholarly works they presented were works of passion. Dr. Coutts discussed his book; Looking Back, Learning Forward: Wrestling with a Church’s Story, edited with Heather Morgan (New Leaf Press, 2023) while Dr. Wilkinson spoke on his impending book and the process behind his work. Both reflected on how the process was akin to riding a wave, highlighting catching the wave, the swells, and reflection upon their experience. 

The Ambrose Scholar’s Corner provides a way for our faculty to appreciate their work as it comes to fruition. We look forward to the opportunity to celebrate these achievements each year as 2024 showcased another fantastic display of research and findings.
