Note from the Associate Director

I am pleased to bring you up to date on new educational initiatives we are pursuing at Ambrose. We have been listening closely to students and denominational leaders to determine ways of better meeting the educational needs of churches across the country. In cooperation with local church leaders, in dialogue with the six districts, and in response to directives given to Ambrose at various National Assemblies we are expanding the education we offer off campus.

For example, we are increasing our participation in district accreditation programs and providing more field-based education options at the graduate, undergraduate, and not-for-credit levels across the country. We will continue to offer graduate education in Ontario and are developing more pathways to degrees for our Ontario graduate students. Some of those pathways include more modular and distance education courses offered out of Calgary and formal credit acceptance agreements with Ontario seminaries.

In the process we took a hard look at our physical space in Toronto and came to the conclusion that we were not making good use of the space. We had more offices than we needed and the classroom space was only used on weekends. As a result we have made the hard decision to vacate our office space in Toronto. Reducing the costs of our local overhead will allow us to allocate more resources to a greater diversity of educational opportunities in Ontario. Classroom space will be found as required in cooperation with the local churches.
