The Primary mission of the Ambrose Learning Services Centre is to assist students in achieving academic success.
The Learning Services Centre (LSC) accomplishes this through a wide variety of services and programs. The LSC is available to all students who wish to improve their academic skills and ability to learn, thereby maximizing their academic experience and allowing them to achieve greater academic performance and personal fulfillment. The LSC also has as its mandate, the specific and complementary responsibility of providing support for students with learning or physical disabilities, and ensuring for them equal academic opportunities.
The LSC continuously works to develop new initiatives and programs to reach an increasingly diverse and changing student population.
What if I have a Learning Disability or think that I might have one?
If you are already diagnosed with a learning disability then we will work one-on one with you. This could include any number of accommodations and is specific to each individual. If you are wondering if you do have a learning disability we can work with you to pursue testing and to try different strategies to see if it helps with the problem. It is important to remember that we cannot help you if you do not tell us you have a problem. All information is kept confidential and any accommodations are handled discreetly.
What if I have a Physical Disability?
If you have a physical disability we will work with you to determine what we can do to help.
Ambrose University College is committed to the success of our students. We acknowledge and embrace the fact that our students come from wide and varied high school backgrounds. We dismiss the traditional
University philosophy of "sink or swim"; nor do we
expect each student to come with all of the skills they need fully developed.
To this end we offer programs and opportunities that enable students to obtain what they need to succeed at Ambrose. For our first year students the main program is Ambrose 101; which is a comprehensive package of services offered to new students.
The Ambrose 101 program includes:
1) Weekly group "SKILL" session
2) An individualized time management program
3) Access to study groups
4) A personalized Study Behaviour inventory
5) Mid Semester checkup
6) Discounted tutoring
7) Individualized assignment help by appointment
8) Paper editing and feedback
The cost is $150.00 per student. To register contact me at the information provided.
