Residence Life

There are dozens of reasons to choose residence. The convenience of getting out of bed and heading to class, the fun of fellowship over dinner with your classmates, the 14 hour/day access to over 100 000 volumes in the library across the street, wireless internet beamed into your room at no extra charge, a lounge just for residence students, but most of all, the experience of residence life.

What does that experience look like?

It looks like floor socials to meet new people and break from studies.
It looks like Halo tournaments that last way too late.
It looks like spiritual growth through mentors and small groups.
It looks like friendships that last 'till you're old and grey.
It looks like learning to be independent away from your family for the first time.

Reminder:

All full-time, first year Ambrose students who are single and under the age of 20 are required to live in Residence, unless they are currently a resident of the greater Calgary area or are a transfer student. All students planning on living in Residence must hand in a completed Residence Application to reserve a spot, even if they are required to live in the Residence.

Residence Location and Layout

The Residence is located on our campus in SW Calgary (SW corner of 17th Ave SW and 69th St SW, just off of Springborough Blvd.)

The style of residence is a traditional residence. Each of the three floors is divided into two, so each floor has two pods. Each pod has 12 rooms with 2 or 3 students in each room. The rooms border a common area at the center of each pod. Each pod also has a small kitchenette, with a fridge, microwave, sink and cabinets for the students to use. The basement of the residence is dedicated to laundry and student lounge space.
