Welcome to Ambrose University College and Seminary! Whether you are a new or a returning student, we look forward to serving you in the coming academic year. If you have just gained acceptance to a degree program at Ambrose, you probably have many questions about your registration, and this page attempts to answer some of them. Similarly, if you currently attend Ambrose University College, you will note that the core requirements for our undergraduate programs have gone through some significant changes in recent months, and you will find a summary of those changes here.

New Students: Faculty of Arts and Science

(Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees)

  • Please note that REL 105 and REL 161 will no longer be offered; instead, all Arts and Science students will be required to take the following core courses:
    • REL 120 Old Testament and Its Interpretation,
    • REL 121 New Testament and Its Interpretation, and
    • Three credits in Religion at the senior level (one course with a course code of REL 200+).

New Students: Faculty of Theology (Undergraduate)

(Bachelor of Ministry and Bachelor of Theology degrees)

  • Students entering Bachelor of Ministry and Bachelor of Theology degrees in 2009-2010 must register for the faculty of theology first-year cohort, which you can download here. This set of courses supplies a strong foundation in personal, intellectual, and spiritual formation while allowing students some flexibility in schedule and courses. Additionally, this cohort of courses provides a common ground for the various specializations within the Faculty of Theology and builds community among new students.
  • New students with transfer credit should consult the Office of the Registrar before registering.

Returning Students: Faculty of Arts and Science and Faculty of Theology (Undergraduate)

  • Please note that REL 105 Introduction to the Bible and REL 161 The Christian Faith will not longer be offered; rather, students must take REL 120 The Old Testament and Its Interpretation and REL 121 The New Testament and Its Interpretation. This change will not disadvantage students who have taken one or both of the previous courses. That is, if you have already fulfilled your program requirements for REL 105 and REL 161, you need not complete REL 120 and REL 121. However, if you have not yet met your program requirements for either REL 105 or REL 161, you may take either REL 120 or REL 121 instead.
