Alliance History and Thought
Alliance History and Thought Offerings
Alliance History and Thought courses may be taken for audit or for credit with Ambrose University College under the following course codes:
Undergraduate REL 362 Alliance History and Thought
Seminary CH 610 Alliance History and Thought
Prerequisites:
- Students registered in Ambrose Seminary programs have the prerequisite of CH 501 Christianity in History or TH 501 Introduction to Christian Faith.
- Students in Ambrose University College undergraduate programs have the prerequisite of REL 260 Theology I or REL 261 Theology II.
- Students who are not registered in Ambrose University College undergraduate programs or Ambrose Seminary programs but who are in a denominational credentialing process may have the prerequisites for Alliance History and Thought waived and MUST take the course for credit.
The Alliance History and Thought online course is designed to include a high degree of dialogue among students, the instructor and the course material. This dialogue will be facilitated by email and the web. The course is covered in eight modules over four months. Five modules have been styled as "virtual classroom" modules because they require participation in discussion among students and with the instructor on important issues. Dates have been established to keep these discussions focused to benefit as much as possible from the questions and insights of others. Four of these will conclude with each student posting a "Position Paper" summarizing and interacting with the themes of module. The final module requires an "Action Plan" to be posted outlining some ways the material of the course can be integrated into your life and ministry. The other three modules are styled "Independent study" modules and use a more traditional distance education method. Students who have registered for the course with Ambrose University College will be contacted by the instructor on the first day of class.
