onSite Retreat Prepares Students for Cross-cultural Experiences
January 25, 2008 - Last weekend, the newest crop of students participating in onSite retreated to Kamp Kiwanis for a weekend of team building, preparation and spiritual formation. onSite is the cross-cultural internship program of Ambrose University College. The 2008 group is the largest yet with fourteen interns and three spouses preparing to go into many nations. The students involved in the program will live with a local family, learn the language and serve with sponsoring workers in order to gain cross-cultural missions experience.

Under the leadership of Dr. Emma Emgård and a team of former onSite students, the group grew closer to God and closer to each other. Late nights, fun, and games, contributed to the bonding. However, all agreed that a deeper sense of team was experienced through sharing testimonies with each other, and experiencing the distinct presence of the Holy Spirit throughout the weekend.
The onSite students will spread throughout the world during this summer and fall. Ambrose will send individuals to the asian nations of Cambodia, China, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Others will also go to Sweden, Israel, two African nations and Quebec. Married couples are going to a Creative Access Nation, Spain, and the Ukraine.
