Principal of Theological College in Zambia Furthers his Education at Ambrose

news

Rev. Elias Munshya Sr. moved his wife Gwendoline Liseli and their sons Elias Yeshua (3), and Caleb Tebuho (2) from Zambia to Calgary in fall 2007 to attend Ambrose Seminary. Elias had been serving as Principal at Grace Theological College (GTC) in Lusaka, Zambia. The school was founded in 1997 and Elias became its first full time Principal in 2004. Last year GTC graduated 20 students from programs in ministry and theology.

He first became acquainted with Ambrose in 1999 through an ad in a Christian magazine while completing his BA in Theology at Swaziland College of Theology. However, several years would pass before he could follow the direction of God to come to Canada. Elias was attracted to Ambrose because of the diversity of the faculty and its exciting programs. He feels that ethnic diversity is important in education today. He enjoys the MDiv program and his family has settled into life in Calgary.

Dr. Paul Spilsbury, Dean of Theology recognizes the role that Ambrose Seminary plays in the development of Christian leaders in the two-thirds world. "Ambrose is equipping indigenous church leaders to train to a generation of pastors in Africa and other continents.  The education they receive here will have a lasting impact when they return to teach in their respective countries."

Elias is still on teaching staff at Grace Theological College but is not yet certain what his next steps will be after graduation.
