Ambrose has Landed

August 14, 2008 - Construction crews continue to push ahead as the faculty and staff of Ambrose University College begin to get settled in on the new campus at 150 Ambrose Circle SW.

The, finance, enrolment, and registrar's offices are almost complete, as are the library and faculty areas, and staff and faculty have begun the process of making their offices their own.

Some IT hiccups were experienced along the way. For example, it took longer than expected to make the network accessible to faculty and staff. The staff are being accommodated in the library building and telephone service was restored as of August 13th, and eager staff are making and answering calls.

Installation of library furnishings will be complete shortly with the arrival of study carrels, soft seating and shelving.

Construction continues on the student residence, gymnasium and parts of the academic building which means Ambrose personnel are not allowed access. Things are coming along well and we expect to be able to occupy the total facility within two weeks. Carpets, ceiling tiles, painting and some other finishing are in final stages of completion.

The gym floor with the logo for the Ambrose Lions incorporated in it is almost complete. Tile is being laid in the locker rooms and hallways. Move in of the music and biology departments on the second floor of the gym and academic centre is taking place as this is being written.

VP Business Operations Greg Needham remains confident that the campus will be ready for students when they arrive in September.

To check the campus on Google Map, enter 40 Springborough Drive SW (the previous address for the campus).
