History: Fun in Community

History at Ambrose is about much more than just classes, papers, and tests. During the "Community Days" at Ambrose, we take field trips to local historical sites and museums, places like the Bar U Ranch National Historic Site, the Military Museums in Calgary, the Glenbow Museum, and the Nanton Air Museum. We do movie nights, where we watch and discuss films like Kingdom of Heaven, The Mission, and Amazing Grace, the story of William Wilberforce and the abolition of the slave trade. Every year, we have a Christmas social (we usually get to enjoy Professor Ken Draper's great cooking!), and each March or April includes a Spring Luncheon, where we get to hear about the work the upper year students are doing in historiography class. If you're looking for a great degree with a great group of people, check us out in Ambrose history.
