Ambrose Golf Classic

news

July 3,2008 - On Thursday June 26 over 90 golfers gathered at Elbow Springs Golf Course and golfed to raise over $100, 000 revenue at the first annual Ambrose Golf Classic.

Warm weather and clear skies are all that were seen by the golfers as they teed off between 11 and 12:30. Though there were no winners this year, attractive hole in one prizes generated excitement as golfers played for a chance to win a Dodge Viper, a Ford Mustang, $100, 000 cash prize or a $10, 000 dollar travel package with golf clubs and bag by getting a hole in one.

Keith Alexander, a former Alberta and Canadian Amateur Champion and Senior Champion, was sitting at a hole challenging tournament participants to a friendly drive competition.

Other guests included Dr. Ted Morton, MLA and Minister of Sustainable Resource Development; and Mr. Preston Manning, tournament banquet speaker who spoke on "Leadership with a Difference."

All in all the day was successful and we look to see many more back next year for the 2nd Annual Ambrose Golf Classic on June 25, 2009
