New Campus Scores Top Marks from Students

news

September 25, 2008 - A random survey conducted in the food court reveals that the new Ambrose campus is scoring top marks from students.

Kieran Wheeler likes everything about it.  "I like the atmosphere and the location", he says.  "It's close to a bus terminal but is a little more established in its own area and feels more secluded."

Students study in new Ambrose Library. The campus is receiving high praise from students.

Troy Dunam, who came from the Regina campus, likes the feeling on campus.  "It's great now that we have come together as one school on our own campus", he says.  He also likes the setup of the residence and feels that it shows a commitment to community.  "The lounge in each pod (of rooms) is awesome", says Troy.  "On the whole, everything is available."

Jenna Gray, a second-year transfer from Mt. Royal sees the campus as "something we can call our own."  "I'm proud to show the school off", says Jenna.  "It is great to have a permanent bookstore and cafeteria."

Curtis Barwich is overall impressed.  He feels that the campus is "a good size for the number of students, especially since there is opportunity to expand."  He finds the classroom sizes good and the seats comfortable.

Sonya Banman, a residence student says, "I love the sense of community."  "The cafeteria helps you meet people throughout the day."  "Also, it's great to have the residence close by."  She also likes the SMART technology in the classrooms especially the way it is used in her multi-varied statistics class.

Sarah Klauke, also residence student and member of student council, likes the fact that the classrooms have electrical outlets in the floor to plug in laptops.  Both Sonya and Sarah like the layout of the residence.

The only drawbacks voiced by the students were: the cost of the food (good quality but pricey), the size of the workout room (too small), the lack of bulletin boards (just going up now), the soundproofing in the residence and the cost of parking.

Overall students seem very pleased with the campus and are glad to have such a place to call their own.
