December 12, 2007 - Gordon Dirks, Chair of the Campaign for Ambrose, is very encouraged by the progress toward the overall campaign goal of $36M to help build the new Ambrose campus. "Each week we continue to receive generous contributions from people who are providing one-time gifts, or payments towards their campaign pledges."

Campaign for Ambrose - Update

To date, cash received, pledges and the proposed sale of the 4.5 acres bordering 77^th St S. total $20.7M. Over the next 12 months Ambrose hopes to raise an additional $5.3M in gifts and pledges. If this goal of $5.3M is reached, and if all outstanding pledges are fully paid, the institution will move onto the new campus with a mortgage of $10M.

The campaign has gained momentum in the past six months due to an increase in major gifts. Examples of recent major gifts include:

• A $50,000 pledge from an Alberta philanthropist;
• A $50,000 gift from a district of the Church of the Nazarene;
• A $30,000 gift from an Alliance church;
• Numerous individual contributions ranging from $10,000 - $50,000.

Every million dollars raised over and above the $5.3M goal will save $50,000 in annual mortgage costs. Reducing future mortgage costs frees up resources to increase the quality of the educational experience for students.
