Futsal - Saturday, January 19 vs. Olds Broncos

The women's futsal team shut out their main competitors, Olds Broncos, in a 3-0 victory last weekend. With starting keeper Amber Locke sidelined with an injury, Jess Gauthier and Kelly Sagan stepped up to the plate and pitched a shutout. Kelly Sagan also scored a goal along with teammates Amy Kelly and Casey Boda. After a scoreless first half the girls came out in the second and proved to be too much for the Bronco defense. The girls face the Prairie Pilots 9:00pm on Friday night at Calgary West.

The men's futsal team shut out Olds 7-0 securing their first place standing in the league on Saturday night. The first half was tight and the teams entered the half locked at 0-0. In the second half the Lions offense exploded. The push was led by captain Jon Pettigrew and forward Kyle Dyck, they each chipped in 3 goals. Dan Dasko also added a goal. The push will have to continue this weekend as we face the strong team Pilot from Prairie at 10pm on Friday night at Calgary West.
