November 13, 2007 - On Friday the Futsal Lions opened the regular season.  The volleyball teams were also in action on Saturday.

The Futsal Lions openned the season against the Olds College Broncos. The women dropped a close 4-3 decision while the men won handily 11-3.

The volleyball teams played a two-game tournament against tough ACAL opponents. 

The men went up two sets to none against two-time defending ACAL champs Augustana Vikings, only to lose a heartbreaker in the 5^th set.  The Lions rebounded to defeat Olds 3-0, finishing with one win and one loss for the weekend.

The women's team lost both matches to Augustana and Olds on the weekend.  The losses were compounded when power hitter Becky Friedrich went down with a knee injury that may end her season.
