Seminary Graduate Directs Connecting Streams Women’s Ministry
After spending eleven years on the pastoral staff of Sherwood Park Alliance Church, Sherwood Park, AB, Donna (McKay) Mitchell (CTS ‘94) joined Power to Change, formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, Canada. She now serves as the Director of Connecting Streams Women's Ministry, an agency which empowers women to reach their world, inviting women to take faith adventures together to love and share Jesus with the people in their worlds. As a catalyst for the journey, the organization created The Compass magazine, and a new DVD that includes inspiring stories of what God does when women step out to follow Him. Donna and her team network and empower women's ministry leaders in churches and organizations to mobilize their women and then endeavor to "connect the streams", bringing women together to reach their city.
Donna is excited about the impact of Connection Streams. "We have a number of women going on a faith adventure with the Compass into a nearby prison and (recently) two women inmates came to faith in Christ! As the women are risking sharing His love, their own lives are changed and their faith grows!"
Donna counted it "a privilege" to be part of the community of CTS (Ambrose Seminary) where she earned her Master of Divinity degree. In 2001 she married Allan Mitchell and has three grown stepsons.
