Ambrose Seminary Langley
Ambrose Seminary is responding to needs expressed by The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada and is seeking to deliver quality seminary education in regionally strategic locations.
Ambrose Seminary–Langley, founded in 1999, is the Vancouver–area site of Canadian Theological Seminary in British Columbia. Rather than operating as a small, independent extension site, the Seminary has chosen to locate the program on the Trinity Western University Campus, as part of the consortium known as the Associated Canadian Theological Schools (ACTS). The ACTS program is a cooperative effort in which six partner seminaries have come together to do their work more effectively. Ambrose Seminary–Langley, along with the other member institutions, governs the ACTS program, provides staff and faculty for it, and has access to ACTS/TWU resources. Ambrose Seminary–Langley students can take any ACTS course or program, and courses taken there may be applied toward degree programs at Ambrose Seminary in Calgary.
At present, students who study with Ambrose Seminary–Langley at ACTS will graduate under Trinity Western Seminary. A letter recognizing that they are Ambrose Seminary students will be included with their degree. Ambrose Seminary is in the process of seeking permission from the Association of Theological Schools (our accrediting body) to grant degrees in our own name at ACTS, and will begin to do so once that permission has been granted.
