Student Loans - Before You Begin...
General Information
- Students that are Canadian citizens or permanent residents need to apply through the province that considers them a resident.
- Ambrose University College requires a student to be registered in 60% of a full course load (6 courses or 18 credit hours) during the academic year to be considered eligible for full-time status.
- The student loan application process may take approximately 6 - 10 weeks to complete, so submit your application ASAP.
The To-Do List
- Registration for the academic year (Fall Term and Winter Term) is necessary for Ambrose to confirm the student's status and provide financial information for the application process. Registrar Information
- Information Required:
- Social Insurance Number
- Living Expenses Estimate
- Most Recent Income Tax Information - Line 150
- Resources (scholarship amounts, savings, other earnings)
- Exact Study Dates (Current: Sep. 6, 2007 - Apr. 23, 2008)
- Educational Cost (tuition, registration & student services fees, transit fee, and books - based on $120 per course)
- Online and paper application may require the student to sign a Confirmation of Information letter to verify the submitted information. Watch out for this document; it is necessary to be eligible for student loans.
- The payment deadline is on the first day of classes. All students that have applied for a student loan and have not received their funding before the deadline must visit the Finance Office to sign a "Payment Deferral Form."
