Biography
Since joining the business department at Ambrose, Jeff has been actively involved in developing new course programs in international business, microfinance and economic development. In addition, he has facilitated opportunities for students to expand their learning experience through the development of international study trips and practical work placements with partner organizations involved in these areas abroad.
Jeff brings a strong mix of corporate and academic experience to the business faculty at Ambrose. He offers over ten years experience in business consulting, strategic planning, research and marketing, including five years as an independent consultant for public, private and non-profit sector clients in a variety of industries. Jeff completed a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Calgary in 2004 focusing on international business and strategic management. Following this, he worked as a senior research associate within the Haskayne School of Business investigating the impact of NAFTA on Canada's global competitiveness. Jeff has studied overseas on numerous occasions and traveled extensively around the globe. He is actively involved in his local community and assists various non-profit and ministry organizations in areas of strategic planning and organizational development, including as a member of the Board of Engineering Ministries International Canada. Originally from the Niagara region of Ontario, Jeff and his wife Lori-Anne now live in Calgary with their children and attend RockPointe Alliance Church.
"I am excited for the opportunity to build and expand the Business program at Ambrose, and in particular to develop new international components that expose students to broader global issues. I believe that the integration of Christian faith and post-secondary education can be a powerful facilitator, inspiring young people to apply their own business skills in practical and meaningful ways that benefit individuals, communities and ministry organizations around the world. This type of experience-based learning adds a powerful dimension for students, inspiring them to strive toward higher goals in their studies and confidently follow the future career paths and life direction that God has called them to."
