Tim's Graduation Story
Graduation - Now it is Time to Change the World
Bitter sweet describes the taste of the Grad Weekend. Bitter because all the friendships, fun, memories, and community are for the most part being left behind to forge into the world and start anew. Sweet because the pain and toil of late nights, stressful tests, and information packed class sessions come to a climax with the sweet taste of success. I am now officially a graduate. Thanks Ambrose. I will look back at my time here with a smile on my face, a full heart, and a continued thirst for God. Now it is time to change the world.
Exam Week - No Pain, No Gain
April 25, 2008 - During exam week I'm reminded of the phrase: ‘no pain, no gain.' Many times I find I am telling myself that I hate learning it but I am going to love knowing it! That's why I end up loving exams. It has taken me my whole undergrad degree to admit it, but I finally have come to grips with the fact that exams are beneficial. Many times in life I have found myself referring back to something I memorized or learned from studying for an exam, and what better subject to be memorizing than the bible. Exams: a headache, research: tedious, papers: hair pulling, the knowledge and wisdom gained from persevering: priceless.
Two Standout Professors
April 22, 2008 - There are two professors that stick out in my mind: Tim Heath and Dave Brotherton . Tim Heath and I started an outdoors club together my first year. I learned a lot about process, how to take initiative and life in general. Dave Brotherton was phasing out of RockPointe Church as I started my internship there. He was particularly encouraging to me as I was learning the ropes. Dave taught me the value of being intentional and showed me how to lead in a whole new way. The professors in general have been a great reason for the bliss that I have experienced in my college education.
Highlights of my Ambrose Experience
April 15, 2008 - During my journey through the educational process at Ambrose, the adventure that stands out among the rest is my internship.
I had a very wise supervisor who was a lot of fun and a great teacher. I came into the church when the youth ministry was in a time of transition and therefore was able to be apart of many new implementations, struggles, failures, and successes.
I have learned so much and I hope to make the school proud by making a difference with the tools that I have gained through my educational experience.
