The Ambrose Lions Women's basketball team enters the 2009-10 with hopes of improving on last year's 6th place finish.  The team has seen its share of struggles over the last 2 years, but believes that this year things will be different.  The team is anchored by the return of 2nd year forward Cherilyn Wheeler, the lone returning player.  With new recruits filtering in the team expects to make a jump up the standings.  This team will be young and highly motivated to prove to the rest of the league that Lions women's basketball is back and better than ever.

Head Coach

Byron Sayer

Byron enters this season as a first year head coach with the Lions.  Byron brings with him experience in the sport of basketball that will serve him and the team well.  He has 10 years of High School Basketball experience, has been an assistant coach with Basketball Canada Centre for Performance and has been invovlved with Basketball Alberta Regional Training Centre and Summer Games Zone team.  He will bring energy and passion to a young Lions squad.
