Men’s Basketball 2007-2008
The 2007-08 version of the Ambrose Lions Men's Basketball team had a strong start out of the gate going to the finals of the annual Hoopfest Tournament in Edmonton. Then the team stumbled out of the gate going 0 and 4 to start the regular season, but they were then able to win 2 of their next 3 games and seem to be gaining momentum. The boys have had to play with an extremely short bench, but they have banded together and shown some true character and grit.
The team has had a number of bright spots, including rookies Mark Ingram and Scott Willms, but the real standout has been captain, Curtis Christison. He is truly one of the best players in the ACAL and that was shown most evident in the February 8 win over Taylor when Curtis drained 54 points. He has placed this team on his back and the team will go as far as Curtis will take them.
The team has offically passed the halfway mark in the season and though their record sits at 2 and 5, the boys are still within striking distance of a playoff spot.
