Ambrose University College varsity teams compete under the name "Ambrose Lions" in the Alberta Colleges Athletic League (ACAL) in hockey, volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Ambrose University College's Athletics is comprised of the following teams:

• Men's Basketball
• Women's Basketball
• Hockey
• Men's Soccer
• Women's Soccer
• Men's Volleyball
• Women's Volleyball

In addition to the above sports, the athletic department offers intramural competition in outdoor football in the fall and floor hockey in the winter.
