Application Procedure

Admissions Application Procedure

Step One

Apply online or complete the Application for Admission and mail or fax directly to:

Admissions Administrator
Ambrose University College
630, 833 – 4th Avenue SW
Calgary, AB T2P 3T5
Canada
Fax: 403.571.2556

Please note:

  • Do not forget to include the non–refundable application fee.
  • All full–time, first year single students under 20 years of age are required to live in residence, unless they are from the greater Calgary area.

Step Two

Request to have your official high school transcript, as well as official transcripts for all previous post–secondary studies, mailed directly to the address above. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted for preliminary consideration, but full admission is contingent upon the receipt of official records and the appropriate application fees. Photocopies and faxed copies of transcripts, and copies of transcripts received directly from the student are not considered official documents.

Please note: In cases where the applicant’s official transcripts are in a language other than English, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide Ambrose with a certified English translation of all transcripts.

Alberta Education Destination Code for Ambrose University College: 132

NOTE:  All undergraduate students, including those from outside of Alberta, must have an Alberta Student Number (ASN).  To request an ASN, please go to http://education.alberta.ca, click on the "Students" tab, and click on "Enter the Learner Registry."

Step Three

Have the reference form(s) required for the program you wish to enter completed by the appropriate person(s), and mailed directly to the Admissions Administrator.

Step Four

As we receive the various items of your application, you will be notified as to what documents are still outstanding. Once we receive your completed Application for Admission, application fee, and some form of transcript, we can review your file for Conditional Acceptance. Once we have received all required documentation, we will review your file for Full Acceptance and notify you as soon as the decision has been made.

Upon acceptance into a program, students are permitted to postpone beginning their studies for up to one year. After a deferral of one year, students must reapply should they wish to study at Ambrose.

Note: While any of these documents may be faxed to Ambrose, admission is always contingent upon the receipt of the official final versions of the documents, along with the appropriate application fee. The applicant is responsible to see that all the admission documents are completed and send to the college. Full admission is contingent upon all required documents, transcripts and applicable fee being received.

*Official means a transcript directly from your school or provincial Ministry of Education to the admissions office of Ambrose. Photocopies and fax copies are not official, nor are transcripts issued to the student or to another institution acceptable as official transcripts. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted only for preliminary consideration, but they must be followed by official transcripts. Students who are in their final year of high school may submit unofficial transcripts of their credits and marks to date, and must submit an official transcript with final marks as soon as possible.
