AUC-NUC Becomes Ambrose University College

AUC-NUC Becomes Ambrose University College

We have entered a new phase in our history as an institution. The merger of Alliance University College and Nazarene University College to form Ambrose University College became effective May 3, 2007.  During the intervening period the transition to the new Ambrose identity has occurred.  As of August 20, 2007 this transition is now complete.  Therefore, all correspondence, advertising, internal and external messaging will now refer to Ambrose University College.  The new Ambrose identity represents an important milestone in the pursuit of our vision to be not only the official Canadian school of both the Christian and Missionary Alliance and the Church of the Nazarene, but also the Christian university of southern Alberta.

We are building a new campus on the west side of Calgary at 100 Springborough Blvd. SW and plan to occupy these new facilities September, 2008.  For the coming year we will operate in our current downtown campus facilities.

Please be advised of the following:

  • all students are students of Ambrose University College, including those who are part of Ambrose Seminary.
  • all personnel are the employees of Ambrose University College.
  • all programs are the programs of Ambrose University College.
  • all transcripts are issued in the name of Ambrose University College.
  • all degrees are issued by Ambrose University College.
  • the fiscal year end is April 30.
  • the campus budget is the budget of Ambrose University College.
  • vendors, associations and related institutions have been notified that we are known as Ambrose University College.
  • all cheques should be written to Ambrose University College.
  • for the 07/08 Academic year Dr. George Durance and Dr. Riley Coulter are serving as co-presidents, after which the Ambrose board will appoint a single president.

Effective August 20, 2007:

  • all messaging refers to Ambrose University College.
  • the athletic team name is the Ambrose Lions . . . "Go Lions!"
  • new athletic uniforms and apparel have been issued.
  • Ambrose colours are used on all academic regalia.
  • planning will begin for an alumni association of Ambrose University College comprised of the alumni of AUC, CBC, CTS, CNC and NUC.

It is our privilege to lead Ambrose University College into this exciting first academic year.

Sincerely,

George Durance and Riley Coulter
Co-Presidents
